Intro

To date, my life has been a stream of design experiments and explorations, from tying Ghostbusters to ceiling fans and flying kites with fishing poles, to making dining chairs with lasers and living in a foreign land.  Ideally, I would like to find myself in an environment where this pattern can continue.

“A healthy company feasts on the contents of its errors as opportunities to improve.” – Adam Werbach

It has been my experience with the act of creating that the best results most often occur as a natural expression of unbridled exuberance and curiosity.

“Education demands, then, only this: the utilization of the inner powers of the child for his own instruction.” – Maria Montessori

Since working at an architecture firm in Chicago, I have had the opportunity to clarify my thoughts on the profession and its relationship to my other passions.

“Architects are prostitutes!” – Philip Johnson

“I call architecture frozen music.” – Goethe

“I see the task of architecture as the defence of the authenticity of human experience.” – Juhani Pallasmaa

I have come to an early conclusion that my design interests include, but exceed, the realm of traditional architecture.  Upon reflection, I would like to pursue all my passions simultaneously.

“Love and gluttony justify everything.” – Oscar Wilde

“Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative.” – Oscar Wilde

In fact, I think the parallels and intersections of these interests reinforce and strengthen the creative process of each pursuit. I see very little difference in designing a website, a remix or a building. They are all layered series of interactions. And every pixel has a purpose.
