SCHOLTEN FOR CONGRESS

ILLUSTRATION: Mike Tallman

ART DIRECTION: John Hilmes

I returned to my home state of Iowa for the bulk of the COVID pandemic and wanted to contribute to progressive politics in the congressional district where I was sheltering in place. It is historically the reddest of Iowa’s 4 districts and had for far too long been embarrassed by the controversial comments of Steve King.

While King was ultimately dispatched by his own party, flipping that seat was a tantalizing and hugely symbolic project. Scholten is certainly the underdog, but within striking distance of winning.

With a clear vision, I reached out to my super-talented friend Mike Tallman of AddNoiseStudios in Denver to execute. And boy did he deliver!

Lovingly printed in three-colors at InkLounge in Denver, 18”x24” posters have sold like hotcakes, raising funds for the campaign, and even getting some love from the big man himself!
